Brittany Shipley is more than a Marketing Manager–she’s a creative strategist, passionate advocate, and systems-savvy leader who brings heart and purpose to everything she does. Since joining Alan R. Harrison Law in 2022, Brittany has guided the firm’s branding, messaging, and outreach with one goal in mind: ensuring that Idaho families understand who we are, what we do, and how we can support them during life’s most important transitions.
With a background in nonprofit leadership, behavioral health programming, and disability advocacy, Brittany brings a unique blend of professional expertise and lived experience to her role. As a former Executive Director of NAMI Wood River Valley, she led a successful rebrand that helped break the silence around mental health in her community. She has also founded and branded grassroots initiatives like 5B Accessibility, which championed inclusive, disability-friendly events to ensure all families could participate in community life.
Before joining the firm, Brittany designed and launched youth behavioral health programs that were presented at national conferences and implemented statewide, supporting young people with complex needs through family-centered care and cross-system collaboration. She now applies that same passion and precision to her work in marketing, building bridges between the firm and the families we serve through inclusive, trauma-informed communication.
Brittany holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Boise State University and is a certified trainer in the Community Resiliency Model (CRM), Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and multiple peer-led support models. She has extensive training in mental health and suicide prevention and uses this foundation to lead with empathy, clarity, and care. She is especially skilled in translating complex systems into accessible guidance that empowers families.
In addition to her role at the firm, Brittany is a prominent voice in statewide systems change efforts. She contributed to the development of Idaho Code 16-2426A, a landmark law protecting parents seeking mental health treatment for children in crisis, and Idaho Code 33-205A. She currently serves as Chair of the Idaho State Independent Living Council (SILC), Chair of the Children’s Mental Health Subcommittee of the Behavioral Health Planning Council, Co-Chair of the South-Central Idaho Youth Crisis Center, and Chair of the Interagency Governance Team (IGT)—the central leadership body guiding implementation of Idaho’s Youth Empowerment Services (YES) System of Care. Brittany also serves on numerous other statewide committees shaping Idaho’s mental health, crisis response, and disability systems. Her work with YES reflects a long-standing commitment to building a more responsive, coordinated, and family-driven behavioral health system for Idaho youth.
Brittany lives in Hailey, Idaho with her two children, both of whom have complex co-occurring disabilities. She is the proud legal guardian and conservator of her oldest and says that parenting her children has shaped not just who she is, but how she shows up in the world. Outside of work, she’s a DIY enthusiast, extreme Pinterest mom, and outdoor explorer who loves paddleboarding, hot springs, camping, hiking, and skiing. Her happiest days are spent creating, adventuring, and finding sunshine with her family.
Though she moved around a lot as a child, Brittany has called the Wood River Valley home for over two decades. She was brought to Alan R. Harrison Law by a friend and former colleague who recognized her talents—and she stayed because the firm’s mission and values mirror her own. It’s a place where compassion, professionalism, and purpose come together in service of families, and she’s honored to be part of that work.
