Tim Sopalski is more than a Director of Business Development—he’s a strategic leader, experienced advisor, and passionate advocate for helping families plan for the future with confidence. Since joining Alan R. Harrison Law in 2024, Tim has combined his deep background in estate and trust services with his talent for building strong client relationships and guiding the firm’s growth. He plays a key role in shaping the client experience, developing outreach strategies, and ensuring that each family who walks through the door feels supported from their first call to final signing.

Tim’s extensive background in wealth management and trust services spans over a decade. He began his career in the trust and estate industry in 2013 and spent more than 15 years supporting high-net-worth individuals and families in achieving their financial aspirations. He has worked with clients around the world, including Israel, Australia, and throughout the European Union, developing strong relationships and gaining valuable experience in international business and legal coordination.

He has held key leadership roles, including Director of Client Relations and later Vice President, Trust Officer at Independent Trust Company of America, where he specialized in creating legacy-preserving strategies. As Assistant Vice President and Trust Department Manager at The Bank of Commerce, Tim led with a relationship-first approach, managing a broad portfolio of estates and trusts with varying complexities. He brings a rare combination of technical skill and emotional intelligence, along with a gift for making complex concepts feel approachable and easy to understand.

Tim earned his Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) certification in 2018 and holds an MBA from Utah State University’s Huntsman School of Business. His professional achievements have been widely recognized, including the American Bankers Association’s 40 Under 40 in Wealth Management, Greater Idaho Falls Distinguished Under 40, the Idaho Business Review’s Excellence in Finance Award, and the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce’s Tim Sopalski Award for Courage.

He lives in Ammon, Idaho with his three energetic young sons. Whether kayaking, hiking to waterfalls, or tackling a good yard project, Tim loves creating memories with his kids and soaking up Idaho’s natural beauty.

Tim is also an active community leader. He currently serves as President of the Pocatello Estate Planning Council, Vice President of the Bonneville County Board of Guardians, a board member of the Eastern Idaho Estate Planning Council, and a member of the Trust & Estate Professionals of Idaho. He is also a proud ambassador for his local Chamber of Commerce and a committee member for the Idaho Falls Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Tim relocated to Idaho to pursue meaningful opportunities to support families and build lasting legacies. At Alan R. Harrison Law, he found a mission that matched his own: serving others with professionalism, compassion, and integrity.
